yellowstone season 6: release date, cast, spoilers, news

Due to its unprecedented popularity, Yellowstone cannot be compared to any other television programme. This fall, only NFL football has more viewers than Yellowstone on TV, yet Paramount/CBS is airing reruns of Yellowstone. Repeats! While John Dutton and his Montana ranch have grown stronger, there have been no new episodes of Yellowstone since January.

Even more remarkable is the success, given that 68-year-old actor Kevin Costner is said to be hiding behind the character of John Dutton. There have been a number of reasons for the production delay, one of which is a conflict between Costner and the show’s creator, Taylor Sheridan. Sheridan’s decision to “strike while the iron is hot” with clips from Paramount+ shows like Special Ops:

Lioness and Lawmen: Bass Reeves is another contributing factor, along with the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, Kevin Costner’s divorce, and the actor’s intentions for his own western film franchise (Horizon).

Away from the spotlight, though? The park’s devoted audience. The fanbase is so dedicated that they even celebrate the cast’s personal successes like starting coffee shops and publishing cookbooks. Fans are still holding out hope for the conclusion of Season 5, which hinted at an end to the Dutton family saga.

This will almost certainly be the end of John Dutton. Reportedly, Costner has significant input into how his character dies, but after that, what happens?

      • I agree. I loved the first 5 season so much. It’s too bad they threw politics into a Farmer trying to save his Family’s land and home
Just like 1923, love it also.
I too grew up in the country, riding horses at age 6 and having dogs on lots of property.
I love ❤️ this show. Can’t wait for it to start again

  2. Hate to see Costner leave – hope they set it so he can possibly return. I think there is enough strength and drama among the other co stars to keep the show going with or without Mathew M. Hope the show goes on and on.

    • I agree , Costner is the heart of that family. I don’t like some of the roughness of speech ,but it’s in your face no matter where you goi feel if Kevin Costner would get off his high horse and stick with this series, he would be at peace with himself . You can only be top dog once, then the age thing sets in.

  3. I really don’t want to know what to say but saving Yellowstone would be the best decision for any writers in television there hasn’t been a TV show like this on in forever it’s real and it’s raw with everything going on in the world I enjoy sitting down on Sundays and watching my Yellowstone everyone that I talk to Misses it terribly just keep writing the best stories that you’ve been doing and you can’t go wrong like I said it’s the best TV show as of right now

    • It has ruined the life of most Montanans. We can’t afford land because rich California’s can are paying cash with drug money and driving up prices. Much like Hawaii, Montanans are living in squalor and paying rent prices that would have paid for a beauteous home 5 years ago.

Stop moving to Montana, California and New York. You’re only here 2 weeks a year and you stole our homes

  4. Love Yellowstone I think it has a lot going for it self and for the viewers. It would be crazy to stop it now and take the original actors out out who would want to add in to add a little more to it but leave the ones in it that started because we have grown to love them and they are like family to the viewers as well. There is always a way to mend everything and make it better. All that begins well can end better.

  6. Without him and his daughter and his son in the head guy that runs it The show will not be the same it doesn’t not going to be on there they’re no reason for a season 6 he makes the show so does she and so does the head Branch hand they make the show you can’t put another Dutton in there to replace them because the show will not be the same won’t have the same impact

  7. All episodes of Yellowstone have been epic! This show is by itself. All the drama between the cow hands, The Dutton’s children and outsiders is continuous and you become addicted and want more. You can’t ask for more. This writer, actor and producer knows how to keep his audience excited to want more and more of “Yellowstone”.

  9. Yellowstone is the best TV show that has ever been on TV. I have seen a lot of them, I’m 72yrs old and this is the best of the best. Hope to see this show until I’m way over my 80’s. Blessings to the Yellowstone family and it’s creater, Taylor Sheridan.

  10. I became a fan before many others and we planned our Sunday around watching the show. Have to say I was annoyed at the reports of “discontent” within the ranks. It is the fans that gave the show its wheels and I am troubled that they deny that very group, the fans, access to more episodes or talk of the major players going away. We’ve made them rich and famous and we’ve clamored for more. So Kevin, Taylor…et al…let’s get on with it already!

  11. I concur with most of the reviews. Yellowstone and its creators, in my opinion are very impressive and creative individuals. The stories of the actors are credible and has merit for myself and others we have discussed the program with.
I do look forward to the next episodes.
    Thank you

  15. The answere is simple every great movie series has or should have a double to set in for the star charector should something happen where he or she cant fulfill thier part and the double can continue the character part. Sheridan should also be happy because the double would be writen up under a new contract.

  17. I’m a fan, but women fist fighting leaves a lot to be desired and Beth Dutton certainly doesn’t need to raise a fist to scare the dickens out of anyone!!! It’s a shame that Kevin Costner’s ego got the best of him as this could be a great legacy for him vs. an epic failure. As for Matthew M. just can’t see it.

  18. Kevin Costner and the writers of Yellowstone are so Damn Stupid….they are ruining the BEST TV SHOW maybe ever…The only other one that comes close is Heartland and I pray it will continue for another 15 or 16 seasons…..I surely hope they will figure out a way to continue on without Costner..

  19. This is one of the best! Kevin Coster needs to stay on. I think Rip & Beth can pull it off. Beth is such a strong character that she can do anything!! This 8s a real cowboy show! Something positive in the world right now. We all need this.

  20. I believe Taylor Sheridan has proven over and over the success of Yellowstone does not need Kevin Costner. Great Actor, don’t get me wrong but it was Sheridan that made it what it is. Id like to see it carry on past Season 6, Hasn’t been anything this great since Larry Hagman and DALLAS!

  21. At this point I could careless. They have moved this show around to so many different apps. Who can afford 3 4 5 different ones just to watch it end in the middle of a season. It’s all about money for Kevin and Taylor. Or a power ego trip there on. I feel they had a good thing going and they f**k it up.

I love the way it makes me feel. He is protecting his Father’s land.
I don’t think it will be the same with different people.
From what I have read this is the last Yellowstone. Sad. All good things come to an end

  26. I love the show & feel that it can totally survive & even thrive without Kevin Costner. The other actors are strong enough to carry the show! I personally would love to see Matthew M & think he would be perfect for Yellowstone.
We have been deprived of the new episodes long enough. Let the show go on!!

  27. It would be a shame for this show to end. I love this show and Kevin Costner is one in a million. We all finally have a show every one loves why can’t they keep it on? The writer needs to get his head out his butt and except he has a good thing here. Don’t know why he needs Matthew M but we all love this show please don’t take it away.

  29. I love the show. I think it will go off with Dutton or Kevin Costner. Maybe after his divorce is settled he will reconsider. He has to remember he started something his fans love and he needs to respect that. He has to knows others, his fans, may not follow him to another show. They will be angry with him for dropping Yelishlowstone. Nancy

  34. I have always loved Kevin Costner..Hi roll in Yellowstone, well, amazing! His costars, fantastic..A true Yellowstone family 💞 Beth is a badass with a beautiful heart. And that Rip..Well..He’s just a super sexy, kind badass. I have watched all five seasons 6 times!! I love this show. I hope Kevin Costner would stop trying to make more money than he already has, by premiering other shows. To me that is quite selfish when he had a wonderful audience and fans of the best television shows on air today. So, with all of that, I truly hope Costner will continue Yellowstone. It won’t be the same without him, but, I will continue to watch. Hooked 😂

  37. I think it would be great to have McConnahey show after John Dutton is gone as a son no one knew about. But, he’s in the will. That family kept a lot of secrets. That wouldn’t be too much of a shocker.

  38. Yellowstone is a fantastic show. Along with the two series that spin off of it. To cancel these shows would be disgrace to the viewers. Getting your feelings hurt as grown adults is being so petty. Grow up actors and thing about the viewers instead of yourselves.

  40. IMHO I think that the 2 shows about the Dutton family were enough to keep the writers busy. Sheridan has added many additional projects that do not have nearly as much of a fan base as Yellowstone. I don’t know when he has time to write with all the reining shows he attends. He is an amazing rider. Continued success with your reining horses and thank you for incorporating north Texas trainers into Yellowstone, The Last Cowboy and mostly the road to a million. Yes, I am an AQHA exhibitor in a different discipline.

  41. Yellowstone has Hints of Dallas in it but it’s a lot more interesting 2 me than Dallas ever was! I’m glued 2 my chair come heck or high water, basically my reservoir is full and well U know! Anyhow the current cast are No slouchers! They AL2GETHER could continue Yellowstone if allowed 2 with some really big twists like after John passes his last will & testament is brought out and read by the family lawyer who reads it and gasps out loud as Kasey & Monica get their their pick of 100 acres, of the ranch, Rip and Beth get their love shack & 100 acres & Summer Higgins gets 2 temain in the massive Ranch house 2 raise John’s baby, that Summer will have near2 3 months after John has gone by the wayside But yet her baby will receive a swath of the land not claimed by its siblings.

John’s will gives the balance 2 his brother twin brother that was taken away at birth, by a twist of fate, *dun dun dah) and John had recently found out about his brother after using 1 of those ancestry things with the help of. Summer.
John’s younger brother had been expected not 2 live long after his birth but he did, & then some!

He became an archeologist, and the very wise John, thought that if he could manage 2 get his brother 2 the ranch that his brother “Heath” might B able 2 find hidden treasures like a full T-Rex skeleton or a big cache of Incan gold, that was thought 2 possibly exist in or near some of the Mountains of Montana as the Incas were sent a gathering of hunters with most of Montezuma’s gold as far away from the Conquistadors as they could get it, then bury it deeply!
Heath could B played by Kurt Russell, I believe he’d b better suited 2 play a western type Archeologist like Indiana Jones! He’s a couple of years older than Costner but whose counting ‘eh?
Taylor is welcome 2 give me a shout so I can give him my thoughts on the deal. I’ve written 2 Books but 2 my dismay they didn’t get published as my wife got jealous of my ghost writer who was at that time NASA’S top Doctor of Metallurgy 4 upcoming Mars projects. This was 1996. My wife had access 2 my computer she deleted 1 book completely and most of the 1st 1 as well! I had them backed up on arewritable CDs sadly the 3 of them were corrupted when I went back 2 trying 2 get the genie out of the bottle!
